Review of the top tattoo magazines
There are many tattoo magazines out there. Some are good and contain high quality images of tattoos and flash while other tattoo magazines are filled with adverts and amateurish pics sent in by readers. So how do you decide which tattoo magazine is worth the money. Here is a review of the top five tattoo magazines. The others I don't really waste money on.
Tattoo Savage
Very professionally put together tattoo magazine. It is usually wrapped in shrink wrap but the contents are not usually as hardcore as you would expect. They also tend to include really good supplements such as Savage's Sexiest Women and Couples. Well worth subscribing to.
Skin & Ink
Offers a good balance of high quality images and intelligent articles. Features well known tattoo artists. Also tends to veer towards the historial aspect of tattooing as well as others such as the Suicide Girls from within the tattoo cultural milieu.
International Tattoo Art
Another quality tattoo mag for serious tattoo lovers. Contains high quality images and lots of intelligent articles and reviews. Ads are kept to a minimum instead the focus is on good content and appealing layout.
Tattoos for Women
From the same publishers who brought you Skin Art and Tattoo Revue is this beautiful magazine geared specifically for women. Inside you will find lots of images broken down into different categories such as Animals, Butterflies, Feet and Neck tattoos. If you are looking for a magazine that concentrates mostly on images then this is a good buy.
Tattoo Magazine
The worlds largest selling tattoo magazine but not necessarily the best. Doesn't contain as many images as other tattoo magazines out there and occassionally ventures into the realm of piercing?!! Lots of ads such as 'How to Dominate Women'! The quality of the paper is not as good as other magazines.
